Twitter launches Twitter Offers

In Communications on December 2, 2014 at 8:55 pm

Twitter has this week revealed plans to launch ‘Twitter Offers’, an easy way for brands and retailers to use the social network to promote their offers to consumers online. Sound familiar?

Facebook launched something very similar last year, free of charge. Only, it never really took off as they’d liked.

Twitters version however, is said to be a trial on the run up to really challenging the webs e-commerce giants such as eBay and Amazon to introudce a buy button, allowing customers to not just redeem offers but to also buy products direct from their news feeds, something Facebook and its direct competitors are yet to implement.

As digital advertising is se to hit 50% of all revenues next year with the UK leading the way, it’s undoubtedly going to be a bare necessity for any retailer online to take a look at Twitter offers and the world of e-commerce will be eagerly anticipating the launch of buy via twitter.

Will ‘Offers’ work, or dwindle into the abyss like other features we’ve seen come and go?
